When I was ready for the next stage of my purpose, I found Perry Power and his company Powerful Books, but it wasn’t because I was looking for a publisher to help me tell my story.
It was more of a right place and right time kind of thing.
I found Perry because he did the work to put his mission on social media. I found his post by God’s grace.
You see, I was about to write a story about a hidden abuse, the kind of abuse I used to believe only psychologists and therapists could see.
I was wrong.
More and more people are speaking their truth. And as different as our stories are, there seems to be a pattern of similarities.
I use my book, The Sword that Divides, to call out the patterns and help the reader to recognize them in real time—not just after the fact in a therapy session… if they are lucky.
To write a book like mine puts the publisher in the hot seat. It’s risky. But not just mine—the stories of all the Powerful Books authors are risky to a publisher.
Publishers don’t like legal liabilities.
Powerful Books helps you self-publish. The onus is on the author, not this publisher.
Powerful Books is not a shield.
It is a sword.
It must be wielded fiercely.
And man, that’s not easy at all.

This process is not for the weak. It takes great boldness and patience.
I have the utmost respect for each author here. I’ve watched shooting stars in action here.
It’s a beautiful thing to witness.
It’s not always sunshine and rainbows. Life throws curveballs endlessly.
But you know what makes the burdens easier to bear?
We have each other.
We have a chat group, we have our community video calls where we can talk about anything in the safest, most uplifting space—from all over the world.
We also have these posts here we can read.
Yes, this post here also uplifts.
So in closing, what matters so much more than having a publisher who just GETS IT, is having a tribe that does as well.
We aren’t alone. And our number is growing.
A wave of healing is coming.
And these are the pioneers.
Thank you, Perry.
I refer to Perry as the man at the edge of the abyss. He’s jumped into his own. And he’s there when you take that leap of faith yourself.
When you emerge, you may not first see your evolution, but the tribe sure does.
And they know how to remind you.
There’s so much more to it, but that’s for you to find out for yourself.
Are you ready?
Your tribe awaits.
Michael
